The following is for calculating shear strength of a rectangular bending member notched on the compression face at the end.

Width of the cross section of the member (b - in or mm)
Depth of unnotched bending member (d - in or mm)
Depth of member remaining at the notch (dn - in or mm)
*Distance the notch extends inside the inner edge of the support (e - in or mm)
Load duration factor (Cd - for ASD only)
Wet service factor (Cm)
Temperature factor (Ct)
Incising factor (Ci)
Time effect factor (TEF - for LRFD only)
*If e > dn, then dn is used to calculate V using the unnotched shear strength calculation using the value of dn for d.
